  • Due to the nature and content of this production, all actors MUST be 18 at the time of auditions in order to be eligible for this production. There can be no exceptions and we appreciate your cooperation. Please do not register if you will not be able to meet this requirement.

With respect to playable age range, all characters in the show are intended to be in their late teenage years through mid-to-late 20s. However, we encourage anyone who FEELS they identify with the youthful age range of the tribe to audition regardless of their actual chronological age. In previous productions of this show (including Landmark’s own 2017 Great Star Theatre production) we have cast people who were chronologically into their 40s, who had the energy and attitude that the show demands.

  • All roles in this show are ethnically non-specific. We are seeking a diversity of ethnicities, gender and gender identifications, sexual orientation and body types for this production and everyone who meets the minimum age requirement is encouraged to audition.

  • Although most of the roles in HAiR appear to be either male- or female-identifying, many roles can be played by any gender or sexual orientation, including, gay, bisexual, queer, trans and non-binary identifying actors. One of the hallmarks of HAiR is diversity in all of its flavors! Please be sure to indicate in your registration whether you are willing to take a role in which the traditional gender identity or sexual orientation is not the same as yours.
