World of Warcraft fans think the Evoker Tier Set from Dragonflight's Vault of the Incarnates raid does not look good on the Dracthyr's dragon form.
With all the Dragonflight Tier Sets now available for testing in the beta, World of Warcraft players can see what all different versions of the endgame gear look like on their characters. Unfortunately, the Evoker class Tier Set looks terrible on the Dracthyr’s dragon form, and World of Warcraft fans are not happy about it.The Dracthyr are a new World of Warcraft race coming to Dragonflight with two forms players can swap freely between. The Visage form is an elf-like humanoid who can freely wear armor and gear. On the other hand, the winged Dracthyr form is their original form, which they must take while using certain abilities. While in their Dracthyr form, most of the character’s equipped gear is hidden.RELATED: World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Dracthyr Mount Discovered In Latest BuildThis unfortunately extends to the unique Tier Set from the Vault of the Incarnates raid in Dragonflight. The Tier Set for the Evoker–the only class availible to Dracthyr in World of Warcraft– is intense and imposing, with sharp, stone-like armor and glowing elemental energy. In their Visage form, Dracthyr Evokers look awesome in the Tier Set. However, when taking their Dracthyr form, everything but the shoulder pads and belt disappear, resulting in a rather disappointing and awkward appearance. As one might expect, players were not happy.
Players noticed the Tier Set concept art revealed with the Dragonflight expansion seemed to show the Evoker armor on a Visage form, rather than the Dracthyr form. Some players feared this meant the armor would not appear on the Dracthyr form–a fear that has now become founded.
The Evoker Tier Set on Dracthyr is not a good sign for the future of the new race. World of Warcraft set out to design the fantasy of a playable dragon character with the Dracthyr Evoker, but making the hardest armor in the game to achieve only visible on the Visage form harms that fantasy. Players will have to choose between showing off their armor in their Visage forms or looking like an actual dragon, defeating the whole point of the race.
Hopefully, World of Warcraft can add more gear to the Dracthyr in the future. The new race does have a number of armor and clothing options available to them, but these choices are cosmetics chosen during character creation, rather than through equipment like other races. With luck, World of Warcraft can figure out how to preserve the draconic fantasy of the Dracthyr without denying players the opportunity to show off their sweet gear.
World of Warcraft is available on PC. Dragonflight launches November 28.
