Ging is probably stronger than old Netero, but weaker than Prime Netero. He is stronger than Netero for sure. Not physically but becuase his Nen skills. Netero was probably the most powerful and effective Hunter in the entire Association.

Ging's abilities have largely remained unknown so far, but they will hopefully be revealed to fans and viewers later on. If his skills as a Hunter are anywhere close to Netero, he should be able to put up a fight against Pitou, and with luck on his side, he might even win.
Adult Gon has a chance against injuring Meruem but based on the Meruem-Netero fight, it is reasonable to infer that it will be difficult if not impossible for Gon to defeat Meruem.
So as a last resort, Netero stabs his own heart with his finger, and detonates the bomb that was nested in his heart, the Poor Man's Rose. Just like the atom bomb, the smoke cloud of this bomb can be seen from hundreds of miles away. The point-blank explosion nearly killed Meruem.
Although his final mission was ultimately successful it was only so because of a suicide bomb that he had hidden within his own body. Chairman Netero was willing to sacrifice his own life in order to save humanity.
He is currently a Double-Star Hunter and qualifies for a Triple-Star License, but because of his shyness and stubbornness, has not applied for one.

Can Kurapika beat Meruem?
Kurapika still loses to Meruem and the Royal Guards, except maybe Pouf. Chain Jail is essentially Kurapika's ultimate weapon. It suppresses Nen, so if it is wrapped around you and you can't break it with physical strength alone, you're defeated.

He's a character who Gon will eventually have to fight and this gives him great importance in the story. Hisoka has killed countless people and his terrifying mentality just makes him that much better in the story.

His 100-type Guanyin Bodhisattva enabled him to deal a significant amount of damage to the King of Ants. Therefore, dealing with Zeno Zoldyck isn't going to be much of a trouble for him. What's more, in his prime, Netero was said to be twice as strong as he was during his old age.
