What happened to Rocky's eye?
In Rocky II, it is revealed that during the world title fight in Rocky, Rocky's right eye was badly damaged. The injury is enough to make him quit professional boxing, and after he decides to face Apollo again, it is enough to make Mick think that there is no way he can win.
Rocky initially declines and retires from boxing, having surgery for retinal detachment, a condition that could lead to permanent blindness. He marries Adrian, who convinces him to live outside boxing.
Sylvester Stallone as Robert "Rocky" Balboa, "The Italian Stallion": Heavyweight Champion of the World, who suffers from brain damage caused by the head-trauma he received at the hands of Ivan Drago in the previous film. Because of his injuries, Rocky is forced to officially retire from boxing.
Memorably, the ball appears in the scene in which Mr. Gazzo takes him aside aside on a deserted Philadelphia sidestreet to reprimand him for not breaking a guy's thumbs. As Gazzo drives off, Rocky pulls out the rubber ball from his jacket pocket and bounces it on the pavement as he walks away from the camera.
To his ever-lasting regret, this turns out to have fatal consequences as Drago lands a final punch on Apollo that knock him to the ground, killing him. Rocky holds a dying Apollo Creed.
Despite the movie being about boxing, the movie does a great job at balancing it's other themes such as romance and developing each character. the movie is filled with a modret about of kissing and violence witch might be too much for younger children. It's appropriate for kids 10 and up.
