Jesus, it turns out, is not the son of the Old Testament God, whose retinue includes a rebellious creator known as Yaldabaoth, but an avatar of Adam's third son, Seth.

In the book of Isaiah, the Jewish deity declares: “I am God and there is no other!” (46:9). In gnostic sources, this declaration becomes the mantra of the foolish creator, Yaldabaoth.

He is an archon with the face of a lion, half flame, and half darkness. In the Nag Hammadi text On the Origin of the World, the three sons of Yaldabaoth are listed as Yao, Eloai, and Astaphaios.

In the Apocryphon of John, Yaldabaoth is described as a "blind god" who is "the ruler of this world." He is said to have created the world out of ignorance, and his creation is described as a "prison" or "tomb" for the human soul. Yaldabaoth is also associated with the forces of evil and darkness.

In the Bible, Baal is the name given to several different deities who are designated as false gods or idols. However, it is most often used to describe the specific Canaanite-Phoenician god of fertility and rain. Additionally, Baal is associated with Beezlebub, demons, and the devil.

In the Archontic, Sethian, and Ophite systems, Yaldabaoth (Yahweh) is regarded as the malevolent Demiurge and false god of the Old Testament who generated the material universe and keeps the souls trapped in physical bodies, imprisoned in the world full of pain and suffering that he created.

Yaldabaoth has no weaknesses or resistances (though it cannot be affected by instant kill skills) and will gain more actions per turn as the battle goes on. It cannot be downed by Down Shot. The evil god will become more and more powerful as time goes on by bringing out arms that can each attack differently.

Yaldabaoth is depicted as a giant serpent with a lion's face, but he can change that appearance to something more frightening or demonic. During ancient times, he used to appear as an old man with a white beard, similar to one of the human forms of God, probably to deceive his followers by pretending to be God.

Jesus is identified by some Gnostics as an embodiment of the supreme being who became incarnate to bring gnōsis to the earth, while others adamantly denied that the supreme being came in the flesh, claiming Jesus to be merely a human who attained enlightenment through gnosis and taught his disciples to do the same.

Similar to Mekhane, Yaldabaoth's gender has often been disputed with articles referring to Yaldabaoth as both male and female. This can be because, just like with most of the other deities, they don't have an affixed gender.
