Going grey? There’s a big silver lining to your changing hair.A Match.com study finds that 72 per cent of women find a man with grey hair hot.

The overwhelming message from women surveyed: a styled salt-and-peppered look shows you’re a strong caretaker, and that you’re more distinguished and experienced than your peers.

Just look at stars like George Clooney and John Slattery. Ladies love these handsome guys for their salty locks.

So it’s time to embrace being a silver fox. Here are four ways to make your grey hair work for you.

Bring Out the Best In Your Grey

Men’s grooming expert and salon owner John Allan recommends a brand of shampoo called Shimmer Lights, from Clairol.

Ignore the low price and the fact that the product is marketed mostly to women. “It makes grey hair shine and look healthy,” he says.

Take a Close Look at Your Tresses

Examine the colour and sheen of your hair. “When grey hair is not clean, silver and bright, then addsomecolour,” Allan advises.

Dull, drab grey is not a good look for any man, he says.

Don’t Overdo It

Notice that Allan says “somecolour”—not, “Dye your hair and eyebrows coal black or egg-yolk blonde.”

Don’t Grow Out the Grey

Grey hair is often wiry when it grows longer. The solution: “Keep your hair short and tight, because it will always look more appropriate and more polished,” says hair exper Jennifer J.

Find a style you like, then stick to it.
