What is the difference between standard and VIP tickets? ›

Premium tickets generally refer to tickets that offer enhanced perks compared to standard tickets, such as better seating and access to certain areas. On the other hand, VIP tickets may include additional benefits like backstage access or complimentary amenities.

That ageless acronym for "very important person" suggests exclusivity and access, all of which are promised when you shell out hundreds if not thousands of dollars to buy a VIP package to your favorite concert. While meet and greet opportunities are not always included with VIP tickets, it ultimately depends on the event and the specific package you choose. General Admission basically just means “no assigned seats" and possibly no seats at all, for a concert, depending on the venue. VIP typically means you have a special area to hang out in that isn't crowded, possibly a separate entrance and separate bathrooms from the masses.

Call the venue that is hosting the event you'd like to attend. Ask them if they offer any VIP packages. If the tickets are sold through a third party, the venue will likely be able to point you in the right direction. Use social media to your advantage.

This price is often called “Face Value” and it is retained entirely by the Event Organizer. The majority of tickets sold by Ticketmaster are standard tickets.
