Does the Shinola store change batteries? ›

If you are simply looking for a new battery for your watch, you can either fill out the watch repair form below, take your watch to a Shinola store with in-store battery replacement, or to an authorized repair center.

The watch has stopped - This could be indicative of the battery running out of power, in which case you would need a battery replacement. However, this could also be indicative of another issue, perhaps with the movement (inner-workings) of the watch.

Recommended battery replacements every 2-3 years and watch servicing every 5 years (automatic movement) and 7 years (quartz movement).

Generally the lifetime of a watch battery is between two and five years. Its longevity depends on the type of watch, its dimensions and the amount of energy required by the different functions. For example, a chronograph will have a higher energy consumption than a watch that only indicates hours, minutes and seconds.

Service experts estimate that you should replace your car battery every four to five years.
