When I was in maintenance my stress level was so bad it caused my to have high blood which I have to be on medication for, my coach sucked, never listened to complaints, or ideas I had to make the department run better,

Pros of working at Walmart
Having a job is a blessing in and of itself. But thus far this job is way too chaotic and stressful for what we have to deal with from both customers and managers.
Cons of working at Walmart
The pay is not up to par with the amount of work and effort my coworkers and I go through on a daily basis.
Walmart Benefits
I have yet to come across any.
What do you like best about Walmart's CEO and the leadership team?
The leadership is very much do as I do and not as I say which I love. But the favoritism and amount of back stabbing brings down the morale between coworkers. The work life is hectic because so many attempts to kiss managers backsides to gain good favour but overall it's detrimental to work life altogether.
How would you improve Walmart's culture?
Giving employees more perks. Letting things as simple as allowing associates to gain their discounts faster. Allowing new hires to switch jobs if one isn't to their liking without having to wait it out in a job they dislike or with a group of people they dislike. It's disheartening and cruel.
How did you prepare for the Walmart interview?
I never had an interview. Never was able to negotiate my pay or anything. I'm a veteran and I had no say in my pay, which is just $14.00/hr which is the lowest I have been paid in so long.
How does your compensation at Walmart compare to the industry average?
Terribly. I am a veteran and I constantly go above and beyond in everything I do yet I still make just enough to survive. It's humiliating.
What's the diversity at Walmart like?
Oh it's diverse and beautiful.
What brings you the most joy at Walmart?
Helping customers when they need help finding things. Answering any questions I can and meeting my numbers as a digital personal shopper.

Pros of working at Walmart
The only pros I see at Walmart are that people get paid, as long as an associate gets hours anyway. The 10% off can be nice, but would be nicer if they'd stop applying it to less and less things.
Cons of working at Walmart
The cons of working at Walmart are, you're working at Walmart. Depending on management, you get treated poorly. Hours get massacred from time to time. Another con, you get to do the work of two or more people when those hours get massacred. You don't get sufficient pay raises, and if you were already making the minimum, you get nothing at all, except for the lousy 2% increase that every one gets, no matter their performance.
Walmart Benefits
My favorite perk is that you don't have to actually make a phone call to call out. The 10% discount used to be a favorite benefit. The discount is only beneficial in November and December these days.
What do you like best about Walmart's CEO and the leadership team?
What I like best about the leadership is when they leave us alone. The CEO hasn't done anything for me in the ten years I have worked at Walmart.
How would you improve Walmart's culture?
I would improve Walmart by making managers take a quarterly interpersonal course. I would make sure that people who have been with the company longer got paid more than those who just started. I would make sure that experience meant something. I would apply the 10% discount on food through the whole year, not just November and December. I would bring back associate bonuses. I would also bring back the percentage bonus. I would also make management spend a day every month being a cashier.
How did you prepare for the Walmart interview?
I didn't really prepare. I interviewed when the dress code was navy blue collared shirt and tan pants, so that's what I wore. Other than doing the whole "dress for the job you want", nothing special was done.
How does your compensation at Walmart compare to the industry average?
The compensation at Walmart is on, well, the average side. The work to pay ratio for anyone not management is terrible.
What's the diversity at Walmart like?
Walmart is good at something and that is being diverse. There are all sorts of people who are different from each other. Disability, color, race, sexuality, it doesn't matter. If it's a human and they can work, Walmart seems to let them.
What brings you the most joy at Walmart?
The most fulfilling aspect of working at Walmart is going home. Knowing that I've helped people is joyous too. The most joy I get at work is going to lunch.

Pros of working at Walmart
They will take care of you as long as you dont represent as being a woke, spoiled, childlike adult.
Cons of working at Walmart
You don't got to go to work - you get to go to work!
Walmart Benefits
in the early years, you grew with them and you could change jobs without changing companies. loss prevention, assistant manager, co-manager, manager, district manager, regional manager, jobs at general office, even become president. you get to go to as many new stores set ups as you wanted, because you knew what you were doing and you were a help to the new store. you were family at a family-oriented company!
What do you like best about Walmart's CEO and the leadership team?
they listen
How would you improve Walmart's culture?
reading the book that Sam Walton gave us at the home office and the stores, the 'One Minute Manager' by Ken Blanchard. Remember the two rules of associate looking to you for leadership, guidance, director. If you don't know what you are doing, step aside and let the associate show you. And never say to an associate, 'do as I say, not as I do!' Also, don't tell them you have worked there x number of years and you have earned the right to do what you do. You have never worked anywhere long enough to mistreat Sam and Helen Walton's associates!
How did you prepare for the Walmart interview?
read all about the early years. read all about the parts of Walmart, stores, Sams, and distribution centers/warehouses. read the book 'The One Minute Manager.' Be open, tell them what you want and what you expect when they ask you. Where do you want to be in 5, 10, 15 years? If you don't know, it will be hard to motivate you.

Pros of working at Walmart
Great place to make friends, and the people that you work with treats you with respect.
Cons of working at Walmart
There training is a joke, they make you work in almost every department and dont and don't compensate you for it, the company tells you earn your overtime but management forces you to cut hours when you get it, there's never any top stocking carts when you need them, their priorities are questionable, when they hire new staff the everyone's hours are cut, there's no raises and there's no bonuses, you make a lot of PTO but not enough protected PTO, there's nothing you can do to prevent theft and the only people who can are hardly ever there, and and the discount card is only 10% off of things that you don't need but stuff like groceries you can't get discounted on.
Walmart Benefits
Don't have one

Pros of working at Walmart
what I did enjoy was that it was a warehouse feel in the sense we worked off of pallets and boxes. There was a clear indication of what needed to be done for the day.
Cons of working at Walmart
Would run into a lot of issues with scheduling. Management was fine but I did have trouble when I would ask a normal question and none of my managers had the answer to it.
Walmart Benefits
My favorite perk or benefit was just how accesible it was to get to work and back. Working overnight was never a problem I had.

Pros of working at Walmart
I get to meet a lot of people and make friends with the customers
Cons of working at Walmart
Terrible communication with HR, very strict and limited discipline for calling in or no call/no shows. We don’t really get to sit down if we need to (if there is not medical reason backing the need to sit) so we have to be on a feet for 8 hours a day. Even with the breaks, standing on your feet for even two hours can get so tiring when you stand in one spot at the cashier barely moving your feet.
Walmart Benefits
The paycheck system they have provides a place to save money, which you control how much is taken out of your paycheck and placed in a private place only you can see. This money you save has no limits and can be taken out whenever you want. You can’t even add money from your own bank account if you choose to.
