What do I do if the USPS says delivered but no package? ›

If USPS is reporting "delivered", you will need to contact USPS directly to file a missing mail search. To save time, we suggest reaching out via email by submitting a service request here. If FEDEX is reporting "delivered", you will need to contact FEDEX directly to file a claim.

Self-service options are available 24/7 by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777). Customer Service representatives are also available to take your calls: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time (Alaska and Hawaii are 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. ET)

Track a package or use USPS's Email Us form to file a complaint online. Select the reason for your complaint, including delivery issues and complaints about USPS employees or facilities. Call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) or TTY: 711. Locate your local post office to speak with your station manager.

Click on “Delivery Instructions” next to your shipment tracking number. The system will ask you to login to your USPS.com account (you can set one up at that time, if you don't already have one). Follow the prompts to see if your address is eligible and to then specify instructions for delivery.

File a claim if your package is damaged, it's been days since it's been scanned, or if it says delivered and you cant find it.

If the proper amount of time has passed and the item has not arrived, you may submit a search request for your lost mailpiece on the Missing Mail application and/or file a claim. Using the Insurance tracking numbers on the receipt, you can check the delivery status either online at USPS Tracking®.

For its 1-800-ASK-USPS customer care line, the Postal Service employs an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to answer calls, automatically handling routine issues such as package tracking, finding post office locations and hours, and submitting hold mail requests.

Whether you are the sender or recipient, you can track your item: Online: Use USPS Tracking® on the United States Postal Service® website. By text: Send a text to 28777 (2USPS) with your tracking number as the content of the message.

USPS® does not charge a fee for redelivery.

What happens if my mail doesn't get delivered? ›

If you have not received any mail within a two (2) day period or if you are not receiving mail regularly (i.e. on a specific day of the week) for two (2) or more weeks in a row, please Contact Us. Customers are required, as a condition of delivery, to ensure that proper access is provided to mail receptacles.

If your mailpiece has not arrived within 7 days from its date of mailing, you can: Submit a search request in the Missing Mail application, OR. Call your Consumer Affairs representative via 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) and they can complete a search request on your behalf, OR.

Informed Delivery is a free service from USPS that shows you preview images of incoming mail, as well as status updates about your incoming and outbound packages. You can see those notifications in a morning Daily Digest email, or at any time via the dashboard from your phone, computer, or the USPS Mobile^® app.

USPS informed delivery only shows the exterior of your mail

USPS informed delivery subscribers receive emails with a low-resolution, gray-scale digital image of only up to 10 pieces of mail a day. USPS informed delivery doesn't show customers all of their mail. Some letters arrive without ever showing up as a preview.

Check the delivery address you gave the seller. Then contact them and ask where your order is. If the seller claims they've delivered it or don't know where it is, you can ask for a redelivery.

Your package may say out for delivery, but then fail to turn up. This could happen because the driver has misplaced it in the van, it has been mis-scanned, or something has gone wrong. You should check the tracking information again, and see if it gets delivered the following day.

If your item arrives damaged or is missing contents, you may file a claim immediately but must file no later than 60 days after the mailing date.
