When making a return, you may receive your refund in the form of a Kohl’s Merchandise Credit. This Kohl’s Merchandise Credit, or KMC, can be later applied to any purchase of merchandise either in-store or online. Your KMC will apply to your purchase just like a gift card.
Adding a Kohl’s Merchandise Credit to Your Wallet
Follow these easy steps to add a KMCto your Wallet:
- Find the 16-digit card number, located directly under the barcode on the back of your KMC, and enter it into your Wallet in the “Add a Gift Card” section.
- Enter the 4-digit PIN number exactly as it appears on your KMC. (You may need to scratch off the cover to reveal this.)
- Click “Add to Wallet”.
This saves the Kohl's Merchandise Credit into your Wallet for easy access when checking out in-store or online.
Using a Kohl's Gift Card or KMC online:
- At time of checkout, click on the option to "Add a gift card."
- Enter the card numberexactly as it appears in the Gift Card Details section. Enter the four-digit PIN exactly as it appears. (You will need to scratch or peel off the cover.)
- Click "Done."

Can I replace a lost or stolen Kohl’s Merchandise Credit?
We are unable to replace a KMC if it is either lost or stolen. We recommend once you receive a KMC, to add this to your Wallet when logged into your shopping profile. The KMC will remain saved in your Wallet until you manually delete it.
Can a customer place an order with a gift card if it covers the whole amount without a credit card on file?
Yes, Customers placing an order in the desktop and mobile versions of Kohls.com can now use a gift card for the whole purchase amount without a credit card on-file.
