Super Junior star Kyuhyun is looking for love – and he has just the idol in mind.
The 31-year-old has admitted that Jisoo from BLACKPINK is his ideal date, after saying that he wants a ‘pure-hearted, pretty’ girlfriend.
The singer, who has just been discharged from the military, was on Section TV when he was asked about his love life.
Kyuhyun, real name Cho Kyu-hyun, said: ‘It’s been a long time since I’ve dated, and I think I’m dumb when it comes to dating. I miss the feeling of dating. I want to fall in love now.’
When asked what his ideal woman would be, he said: ‘A pure-hearted style and a woman who’s pretty with her hair up in a ponytail’ – before admitting BLACKPINK star Jisoo, 23, is the celebrity closest to that description.
Jisoo is not believed to be dating anyone at the moment, and K-pop fans previously shipped the two idols after Kyuhyun interviewed the Kill This Love singer on Radio Star.
However, Kyuhyun may be a bit shy, as he admitted he struggles to speak to female idols due to his age.
The star, who joined Super Junior in 2006, told Star Today: ‘I’m friendly to the younger male artists, but when I see the junior female artists, I don’t know how to interact with them, so I run away. I want to say hi… if they say hi to me, I can say hi back.’
Kyuhyun was discharged from mandatory military service on 7 May after two years, during which he worked a social service worker due to the injuries he sustained in a 2007 car accident preventing him from being an active duty soldier.
Despite leaving the public service just three weeks ago, Kyuhyun has already released new music, dropping the singles Time With You and Aewol-ri, as well as the new EP The Day We Meet Again.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK are in the middle of their In Your Area tour, with Jisoo, Lisa, Rose and Jennie set to perform two dates in Australia in June.
The Ddu-du Ddu-du band sold out the Wembley SSE Arena last week, in their first ever London show.
