Wal-Mart has recently decided to remove it's fabric department from all stores. They are trying not to be seen as a "discount store", but that's what Sam Walton founded it as - a place where the ordinary person could buy what they needed. Wal-Mart is rather quickly losing it's appeal. Not only did they get rid of the layaway option, but they raised the prices as well. By getting rid of the fabric department, they are getting rid of the only option some people have for clothes.
Would Sam Walton have wanted this? I think not.

We the undersigned would like to address Wal-Mart in the recent desicion to remove the fabric department from stores. We understand that you do not want to be seen as a "discount store". But this that is what Sam Walton founded Wal-Mart as - a place where the ordinary person could buy what they needed. Wal-Mart is Quickly losing it's appeal. You are lowering your standards, and fading into medeocrity. You are getting rid of one of the major defining features of Wal-Mart stores.
You have already gotten rid of layaway, andhave raised your prices by quite a large sum. By getting rid of the fabric department, you are getting rid of the only option some people have for clothes.
Would Sam Walton have wanted this? We think not.
