Are you tagged in Tweets that read, “Friends, the surprise is coming. Are you interested?” with an image that says Ray-Ban is having a 90% off sale for only 24 hours? Be careful, this is a reoccurring scam!
Scammers use fake Twitter accounts or compromised ones to post Tweets of scam messages and tag people randomly, spamming them with similar messages:
24 hours only Ray-Ban GENUINE SINCE 1937 $249.90 $24.99 84 anniversary celebration, 90% discount! Ray-Ban official website
The campaign is NOT a legitimate one from Ray-Ban officials. Actually, it has been circulating for years online. The web addresses in the scam message above may differ, but they all lead to fake Ray-Ban websites with incredible, too-good-to-be-true prices of sunglasses:
Please remember that the only genuine Ray-Ban website is ray-ban.com. Don’t buy anything on it!

The scam is designed to trick users into visiting a knock off Ray-Ban store where they could be at risk of their bank details being stolen, receive fake Ray-Ban glasses or not receive any items at all after paying.

Fakes will often have slightly off, low quality looking lettering. On the inside left temple you should see the Ray-Ban model number (RB followed by a 4-digit number), the color code made of a combination of letters and numbers, the lens size, temple length, and either 2N or 3N (P if they're polarized).
A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act regarding biometric facial geometry allegedly collected from consumers who used the Virtual Try-On Application Tool on RayBan.com. The case is Vo v. Luxottica of America Inc., Case No.
Ray-Ban has been a classic American brand since 1937, but Ray-Ban glasses have not been manufactured in the USA for quite some time. In 1999, Bausch & Lomb sold Ray-Ban to the Italian eyewear company Luxottica. Today, Ray-Bans are made in both Italy and China.
EssilorLuxottica, Ray-Ban's parent company, and Facebook worked together from concept through final design to seamlessly integrate smart technology into an iconic form factor, which was a great challenge in and of itself.
Yes. Ray-Ban Stories glasses are a collaboration with Facebook. To use voice commands and download your photos and videos, you need to use the Facebook View app.
