Rescue Volo is a side quest in Baldur's Gate 3 where players must free Volo from captivity in the Goblin Camp. There are a few ways to free him, so this walkthrough will guide you through all of your options, as well as detailing the rewards you receive in exchange for completing the quest.

How to Start Rescue Volo
To begin this quest, head to the Goblin camp southwest of the Blighted Village. After making your way inside, you will run into Volo, who was captured and is being forced to perform for the goblins. Speak to him to discover that he would like to be freed from his predicament, adding the task to your quest log.
Rescuing Volo

Shortly after speaking with Volo, he’ll be escorted away to his cell inside the Shattered Sanctum. His cell is located on the right side when entering Gut’s throne room, and he’ll be guarded by a goblin named Gribbo. Speak to her for a chance to free Volo with diplomacy.
If that fails, you can pick her pocket or kill her to get the key to Volo’s cage. If all else fails, you can simply pick the lock on Volo’s cage. Once free, he’ll take an invisibility potion and meet you at your camp if you offer to let him stay.
Return to your camp and speak to Volo to receive a Blazer of Benevolence, which is a useful magic item that benefits bards. You can speak to Volo further to discuss your parasite, which he can attempt to remove. The failed attempt will damage your eye in the process, but Volo will replace it with a magical eye that can see invisible beings.
