My textile print designs have been bought by major retailers worldwide for the last 22 years for fashion, accessories and home decor. In 2013 I launched my own website & brand paisleypower.com specializing in creating unique fabrics and fabric products.
Description:
The 1960's was a decade when the paisley pattern became the iconic pattern of the decade. The birth of the hippie meant the reinvention of the paisley symbol, which had it's origins in the Middle East and the paisley patterns woven later in Kashmir, India. The pattern was given it's name "Paisley" after the town in Scotland. In Paisley town, there were more than 6,000 weavers who mainly wove paisley shawls, the essential fashion accessory from 1750 to 1850. The hippies of the 1960's embraced multiculturalism and Eastern philosophies, so the paisley pattern, with it's strong Indian connections, was the perfect pattern for hippie fashion. Then colours were very bright and eye-catching. The sixties paisley patterns were more graphic and free-form than the paisleys form previous centuries. I hope you like my Paisley Sixties collection. I hand-drew my design using pencil and ink pens. I completed the design using Photoshop. There are 5 different colour versions. I hope you find one to suit your project. Relive the optimistic spirit of the sixties with my unique new textile designs.
