Outposts are mainstays of the Far Cry series. They're strongholds held by the enemy that the player can take over to earn rewards. To successfully liberate an outpost a player must kill all enemies in the location.
In Far Cry New Dawn, there are 10Outposts which are also the main source of Ethanol which can be used to upgrade your home base, Prosperity. Taking an outpost silently and without setting off new alarms will earn you extra rewards. You can find all of the outposts marked on our interactive map.

You can disable alarms by interacting with them so even if an enemy does try to set one off it won't work. If they do successfully use an alarm, reinforcements will be called and you'll have to deal with them as well.
You can then scavenge the outpost which essentially hands it back to the enemies at a higher level.
Rewards
Any outpost you liberate will award you a base level of ethanol and Carbon Fiber. Doing so without setting off the alarms (you can choose to disarm them) will get you some bonus resources. If you manage to go completely undetected you'll get even more.
Every time you take an outpost you can then choose to scavenge it for Ethanol - this will level outpost up and have enemies retake the location.
