As a seasoned expert in the field of cruise ships and maritime travel, I bring a wealth of knowledge and firsthand expertise to the discussion of Norwegian Jewel's deck plans. My extensive understanding of cruise ship design and refurbishment allows me to provide in-depth insights into the features, changes, and enhancements made to the Norwegian Jewel over the years.

The Norwegian Jewel, launched in 2005 and last refurbished in 2023 as part of the "Norwegian Edge" program, is a member of the Jewel-class ships by Norwegian Cruise Line. This class includes other notable vessels such as Gem, Jade, and Pearl. I'm well aware that Norwegian Jewel was also one of the Norwegian “Nickelodeon” ships, sharing this distinction with Breakaway, Getaway, Epic, and Gem.

Now, delving into the specifics of the deck plans, the Norwegian Jewel boasts a total of 15 decks, with 12 being passenger-accessible and 7 featuring cabins. The ship can accommodate up to 2,866 passengers, with 1,194 staterooms and a crew-staff of 1,070. This information is not just data to me; it represents the carefully planned layout of a vessel designed to offer a memorable and comfortable cruising experience.

The 2018 refurbishment in Singapore brought significant upgrades to the ship. All passenger staterooms were revamped with new HDTVs, USB outlets, carpeting, furniture, and artworks. Notably, "The Haven" cabin complex received courtyard updates, and additional cabanas were added to the Sun Deck. Two new Haven Deluxe Owner Suites were introduced, each featuring a terrace whirlpool. The Atrium underwent a transformation with a custom-made chandelier, new flooring, and refurbished lobby areas.

Changes also extended to the dining and entertainment options. New lounges, Bliss Ultra Lounge and The Pit Stop, replaced old bar lounges. The ship introduced two new theatre shows, "Rock You Tonight" and "Velvet," enhancing the onboard entertainment experience.

Moreover, during the 2014 refurbishment, the ship witnessed a range of updates, including renovations of Penthouse Suites, lounges, the casino, and the photo gallery. Complimentary dining venue O’Sheehan’s Neighbourhood Bar & Grill was added, and Moderno Churrascaria (steakhouse) was relocated with the addition of the Sugarcane Mojito Bar. Carlo’s Bake Shop found its place in Java Cafe, and technical enhancements such as Azipod upgrade and stabilizers maintenance were undertaken.

Dry-dock technical improvements were not limited to aesthetics; they extended to safety updates and environmental considerations. Upgraded lifeboat/tender boats release systems, ballast and bilge piping replacements, and the installation of new exhaust gas scrubbers contributed to safety and reduced environmental impact.

In conclusion, my expertise allows me to decipher the details of the Norwegian Jewel's deck plans, recognizing them not just as layouts but as integral components of a vessel designed to provide an exceptional cruising experience.
