History[]

Joker brought this weapon with him when he escaped the exploding chemical factory in his green helicopter. One of many trick weapons he built like the high-voltage joybuzzer.

200th Anniversary Parade[]

Joker challenged the Batwing by standing in the center of Broad Avenue after Batman used it to remove his Smylex Ballons. Taunting Batman to give him his best shot, all of the heavy artillery missed as Joker was a small target at a great distance. Joker drew this gun from his trousers, using the waistband of his slacks to elongate its telescopic barrel as he pulled, making it appear as though he kept a comically large weapon in his pant leg. As the Batwing drew near Joker fired an explosive bullet directly into the frontal co*ckpit area, causing the vehicle to crash land outside Gotham Square.

Skirmish of Gotham Cathedral[]

Joker used this gun to hold Vicki Vale hostage while she desperately rummaged through the Batwing wreckage. Joker forced her at gunpoint to sojourn up staircase of the Old Gotham Cathedral. Before reaching the belfry, Joker shortened the telescopic barrel. While the injured Batman struggled to fight off three Joker Goons, Joker forcibly danced with Vale with this revolver in hand. Joker threatened suicide with the gun, frightening Vale but laughed when he revealed its harmless Bang! Flag, throwing it off the balcony of the belltower.

Behind the Scenes[]

This prop was built by John Evans, three different revolvers were needed to create the illusion of this being one weapon. In Sam Hamm's script, the Joker's float concealed a tank, and it was the tank that shot down the plane. The long barreled gun appeared in Warren Skaaren's budget-conscious shooting drafts. In Michael White's storyboards Joker pulled a rocket launcher from a pink fur coat. In Cinefex, Tim Burton says he was the one who wanted it to be a trick pistol and he was met with a lot of resistance.
