Kings Royalty Package - Pricey, YES - Worth it, YES! - Review of Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Dallas, TX - Tripadvisor (2024)

This review is based on 12/31/13 visit, 7 pm show, red team knight was the best !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes--this place is pricey, but it is fun for the entire family and it is an experience you and your kids will not forget. I was a bit hesitant spending that much money on tickets, but I went ahead and took a chance and splurged. We bought the Kings package b/c we were celebrating a bday. The birthday girl was admitted free, however we had still to pay the $20 to upgrade to Kings package. Ticket total for 4 w/bday girl was $230. In my opinion is was worth every penny. Depending on how many kids, I would take an extra $50-100 for toys, drinks, etc...

Pro's:
* The entertainment, the amount of food, the quality of food (surprisingly good food), pictures taken, and length of time was well worth the price.
* My kids absolutely LOVED this place. They were captivated by the horses and performances.
* The horses and sword fights were great.
* The front row seats for kings package were awesome.
* Parking is free

Tips:
* No need to get there too early (30-45min before show is adequate).
* If you have kids, hold on tight to your wallet b/c when you enter the castle, there are plenty of things for them to buy (swords, lights, drinks, toys, shirts).
* People selling stuff left and right.
* Beers $8, come with souvenir cup (they dont tell you it comes w/souvenir cup so you can buy the more expensive one).
* There are 2 huge bars inside the castle.
* Sword w/light $13, lighted Rose $5, flags to cheer $5.
* Seating can be a bit tight if your a bit heavy.
* Food portions are big (Soup, toast, half roasted chicken, potato, and a desert).
* Everyone takes credit cards there.
* Not for kids under 3yrs old -- it's very loud and the show is about 2 hrs.
* Kings package comes with front row seats, plastic flag to cheer, nice pics for everyone in your party, and programs. Your mainly paying to sit in the very fron, which was worth it for us.
* The rest of the seats still have a good view.
* You are given an envelope at the end of show for Gratuities. You put what you want.
