Sheet masks are basically thin sheets of cotton that are then soaked into various concoctions and used directly on the face.
So if you’re doing these on your own at home, you can either use dry cotton baby wipes or cotton facial mask sheets (available online) as a substitute.

Rice water is Korean women’s ride or die secret that gives them soft, supple skin. It improves elasticity, minimizes pores and even promotes skin cell growth.

Soak some brown rice in water and strain all the dirt from it. Then, add fresh water to the rice again making sure it’s soaked well and leave it overnight. The next day, dip your cotton wipes/mask sheets into it and refrigerate everything. Leave it for about 30 minutes. Your refreshing rice water homemade sheet mask is ready to use!

Green tea is packed with antioxidants that help add a healthy glow to your skin. It’s one of the most trusted and effective anti-inflammatory agents too.

Add about 5-6 green tea bags to hot water and let it soak for a good 15-20 minutes. Once all the tea is extracted, let this water cool at room temperature. You can squeeze a few drops of lemon juice to it for added benefits. Soak the cotton wipes/ dry sheet mask into this mixture and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

If you have sensitive skin that’s prone to irritation, the cucumber sheet mask will prove to be extremely beneficial. Cucumber is rich in vitamin C and has caffeic acid that helps fight swollen, irritated skin and helps firm sagging skin.

Extract juice out of 3-4 cucumbers that’s just enough to completely soak the sheet mask. Follow the same procedure as above—dip your cotton wipes or dry sheet masks in this and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

Can these sheet masks be stored?

Absolutely! Fold the wet sheet masks neatly and place them into a zip lock bag. Make sure you get rid of any air and lock the bag. Store them in the fridge. While most sheet masks that you get in the market contain additives like fragrance etc., these homemade sheet masks are void of any harmful chemicals whatsoever. Use the stored masks within 10 days.
