What are the requirements for marriage in Tomodachi Life? ›

A marriage occurs after a certain amount of time (anywhere between months and, very rarely, under an hour) has passed and both Miis maintain a good relationship with each other. One of the two dating Miis will have a problem icon and say that they want to get married to their sweetheart.

A baby is a special Mii exclusive to Tomodachi Life, created when two Miis successfully marry, then decide that they would like to have a baby.

Miis can become sweethearts in two ways. The first way is the love confession, where one Mii develops feelings for their friend, so they confess their love and if the Mii being confessed accepts, the two will start to date; if rejected, the confessor will gain sadness.

It is possible for a breakup or divorce to happen even with a good status. This happens after the asking Mii's apology is rejected or the third Mii fails to stop a huge fight. In Tomodachi Collection, Miis cannot get back together after a breakup.

Removing a married Mii will result in the relationship broken up (as if the removed islander never existed). The house will disappear and the spouse will look for a "new" spouse. If they have a child that is grown up, the child will still remain, but not if it isn't.

It is possible for two Miis to become best friends or lost their best friend status off-screen. Miis can no longer be best friends in the same way. It is possible that a Mii can dump their best friend by becoming best friends with another Mii. However, this will not cause any sadness.
