Made with 100% Arabica coffee beans and rum, Kahlúa coffee liqueur is one of the main ingredients in many of the world’s favorite co*cktails. From the White Russian, Black Russian and Mudslide, to the co*cktail du jour… the Espresso Martini! Plus many more classics, old and new.

Is the coffee in Kahlúa a flavoring?
No, our products are made with 100% Arabica coffee beans and rum.
Does Kahlúa contain Caffeine?
Yep. Kahlúa contains about 100 ppm caffeine, which means about 100ml/ litre of product. So, for a standard 1.5 oz drink of Kahlúa there would be about 5 mg of caffeine.
Just to put it in perspective, an 8 oz brewed coffee can contain up to about 200mg of caffeine.
How do you drink Kahlúa?

Should Kahlúa be refrigerated?
No, but we recommend to store it in a cool dry place once opened.
Why have you changed the label of the Kahlúa Original?
We have redesigned the label to make it clearer that we’re made with real coffee, and better connect to our Mexican heritage.
What percentage of alcohol is in Kahlúa Original?
16%
Have you reduced the alcohol content of Kahlúa?
Yes, in some markets such as the UK and Canada (for now). We have decided to reduce the ABV level from 20% to 16%. This is to better answer a growing consumer demand for lower ABV products. Our new bottle maintains the original taste profile and texture.
As the alcohol content has been reduced in the Kahlúa Original, does this mean the price has been reduced too?
The price remains the same, as the ingredients and product remain the same high quality. Our product still maintains that great real coffee taste!
Your new Kahlúa Original bottle tastes more like coffee. Have you added more?
Nope. We’ve kept the coffee in Kahlúa the same. However, some may find the notes of coffee more prominent.

Have you decreased or increased the sugar level in your new Kahlúa Original bottle?
The cane sugar has been decreased by a small amount in each 700ml bottle, to match the lower ABV level. It is now to 3.5 grams, meaning there’s 7 kcal less, per 30ml EU serving size.
Does this change the way I should make my co*cktails at home?
There’s no need to change the way you make Kahlúa co*cktails at home. The new formula still blends itself perfectly to the same co*cktail recipes it previously did.
I’ve still got one of your old Kahlúa Original bottles at home. Is it still okay to use?
Yes! There’s no need to get rid of your old bottle.
I still stock your old Kahlúa Original bottles, should I remove it from our stock?
Nope. There’s no need to remove any older Kahlúa stock. In future, the 16% ABV level bottle will be the only formula produced.
What’s the production date of my bottle?
To find out the production date of your bottle, just drop us an email below with the LOT code of the bottle and pictures of the front and back label, and we’ll help you find out the production date. The LOT code is a combination of letters and numbers and usually lasered onto the glass or the label.
Does Kahlúa go bad?
For Kahlúa Original, we recommend a shelf life of 4 years.
Actually, the product will be good for many more years, but the coffee impact fades over time so it won’t give you the full flavor impact. Also, if you were to receive an old bottle of Kahlúa, you have to make sure it has never been opened or tampered with.
What’s the shelf life of the Kahlúa Flavors?
The Kahlúa Flavors have a recommended shelf life of 2 years.
What’s the shelf life of the Kahlúa Ready-to-drink (RTD’s)?
The Kahlúa RTD’s have a recommended shelf life of 1 year.
Does Kahlúa contain dairy (milk or cream)?
No, Kahlúa Original does not contain milk, cream or any milk derived ingredients.
Kahlúa Espresso Martini RTD’s and Kahlúa Nitro Cold Brew RTD’s also do not contain milk or cream.
Please note, these products are lactose free, but not acceptable for a vegan diet.
However, Kahlúa Mudslide RTD, White Russian RTD, Vanilla White Russian RTD, and Kahlua with Milk RTD do contain milk and/or milk proteins.
Does Kahlúa contain nuts?
Nope! There are no nuts, coconut or tree nuts of any kind in Kahlúa Original and Flavors.

Is Kahlúa Vegan?
Kahlúa Original, Kahlúa Flavors and Kahlúa Ready-To-Drink (RTD’s) are NOT acceptable for a vegan diet.
Does Kahlúa contain allergens?
No, Kahlúa Original and Kahlúa Flavors do not contain any allergens.

Is Kahlúa Gluten free?
The processes of distillation should eliminate cereal proteins from distilled spirits drinks and therefore distilled drinks are generally accepted for a gluten-free diet.
We do not add any known gluten ingredients inKahlúa Originalor the Kahlúa Flavors. Please note however, that we cannot offer specific advice, and recommend that you discuss these matters with your medical or dietetic advisors.
What can I use in substitute for Kahlúa?
Although our coffee co*cktail recipes have recommended measurements based on Kahlúa, for non-alcoholic substitions, you can try using coffee, chocolate extract or coffee flavored syrup.
Is Kahlúa Kosher?
No, Kahlúa is not a Kosher certified product.
Do Kahlúa sell coffee pods?
Not directly, but we have a licencing partnership with Keurig, who are the producers of such pods.
