Is the Savannah trolly free? ›

It's FREE and is one of the most popular ways to get around the historic district of Savannah and see the sites.

The City of Savannah boasts a multi-modal transportation system that can move downtown visitors by road, rail, and sea at no charge. The Downtown Transportation (DOT) system is comprised of: Savannah Belles Passenger Ferry: These boats depart from Rousakis Plaza on River St.

Savannah operates a bus system, run by Chatham Area Transit (or CAT). One-way tickets for the bus cost $1.50; day passes cost $3, and transfers are free; tickets can be purchased on board, but make sure to have exact change. CAT also operates a free dot Express Shuttle, which makes 24 stops in the historic city center.

Cash fare for local bus boarding is $1.50. Exact change only. Customers 65 and older, between the ages 6-18, passengers with disabilities and honorably-discharged veterans can pay half-price, 75 cents with ID. Transfers can be requested for free before paying the fare; they are valid for one-way travel for 90 minutes.

The trolleys follow a continuous loop, so if you board at any of the stops and do not disembark, it will eventually bring you back to where you started. We always have plenty of sales reps at different stops in the historic district.

Shuttles for Ticket Holders

Shuttles will be provided from Savannah Civic Center at Barnard and Liberty. All shuttles are free and are returned to the Savannah Civic Center.

Old Town Trolley Tours covers all 9 miles of Savannah's Historic District and Victorian District. Old Town Trolley Tours takes you through 22 historic squares, each with its own unique charm.

In addition to the holiday trolley service, the regular season trolley will run from January 6 - March 31, 2024 and will continue to offer a free guided trolley tour from Downtown Homestead to Everglades and Biscayne National Parks with an additional stop at Homestead Bayfront Park.
