The City of Savannah boasts a multi-modal transportation system that can move downtown visitors by road, rail, and sea at no charge.The Downtown Transportation (DOT) system is comprised of:

  • Savannah Belles Passenger Ferry: These boats depart from Rousakis Plaza on River St. and provide ferry service between River Street and Hutchinson Island. Bicycles and strollers are welcome on board.
  • Currently Out of Service - River Street Streetcar: "Dottie" is a bio-diesel fueled Melbourne streetcar, lovingly restored in Savannah. This 43 passenger car makes a number of stops along its roughly mile long track on River Street.
  • Currently Out of Service - Dot Shuttle: The dot Shuttle takes passengers to many of the cultural and historic points of interest downtown, as well to and from the city’s 5 public parking garages.
