Both organizations Part 145 and CAMO have their own Engineering division that prepares Engineering Orders (EO).
By the way, somebody calls EO as a Maintenance Job Order (MJO). At least, I met such descriptions.
In this article, I would like to constitute my thoughts in terms of differences and similarities between Engineering Orders issued by both these organizations.
The similarities
Both Part 145 and CAMO EOs:
1.Should be prepared and based on the current applicable approved maintenance documentation that, actually, are AMM, SRM, FIM, WDM, CMM, etc.
2.Can represent a higher level of job complexity, include additional recommendations or clarifications from OEM, transcribe ADs/SBs requirements, etc.
Cannot provide instructions that are out of the scope of these organizations. For example, they cannot represent any kind of design as it is a domain of the Part 21 organization.

The differences
1.Part 145 EO is for internal usage only to support its own maintenance team doing its job.
vs
CAMO EO can be used by any Part 145 MRO which is subcontracted by its CAMO to perform maintenance.
2.Part 145 EO is intended for specific maintenance projects and is effective to one airplane.
Vs
CAMO EO can be and is usually applicable to a few airplanes or to the whole fleet, can be issued to work as many times as it is considered.
This is my experience and understanding. If you have something to add, please be free to share your thoughts. It is very exciting for me to discuss. Because, as you know, only when we argue we can find the truth.
Writing this article, I concluded that it is better to write a new one comparing CAMO Engineering vs Part 145 Engineering responsibilities and limitations. I believe that it will be more interesting especially if lay down the true experience but not the theory.

Nice article. So as per my understanding, MOE should reflect some processes and procedures for part 145 EOs?
