Cheers to young millionaire from CLN (2024)

Celine Marketing Group celebrated its 35th year by rejuvenating its brand via a stylized name, a hip new logo and a fresh new store concept.

Celine altered its brand name to a more youthful and elegantly looking CLN, designed to create a corporate identity more suitable to the contemporary and international market. Now CLN is a reflection of the company’s aggressive and optimistic outlook on the future of fashion retailing.

In appreciation of the customers who stood by the brand for more than three decades, and for those who have considered CLN for their special occasions, CLN gave away more than P4 million in cash prizes to lucky shoppers via the “Rush to Win! A Chance for a Million” raffle promo.

“At first I couldn’t believe that I won P1 million. I thought I was dreaming because I was still sleeping when they called me.” These were the words of a jubilant Liezl Jane Rigunay when asked about her reaction upon winning the top prize of the raffle promo by CLN, one of the country’s leading shoes, bags, apparel and accessories brands.

Rigunay, who just finished a culinary course in December, is 22 and is dreaming of landing an internship in a hotel resort in the United States. The prize money will help her fulfil that dream.

Last December, her mother, who works in Bahrain, joined her to shop for a new pair of shoes for her graduation. They shopped at CLN, her mother’s favorite brand at Festival Mall in Alabang, unaware of the ongoing promo. Little did they know that a month later, they would be rewarded.

“When I called my mom that I won, she also couldn’t believe it. She thought it was a joke or a scam,” Rigunay says.

“We were thinking about doing something to give back to our customers who have been supporting us for 35 years,” says Celine Marketing Group chair and chief executive officer Chan Kok Bin.

The popular shoe store company debuted in 1978 as a shoe boutique in Calle Escolta in downtown Manila, the entertainment and shopping hub then.

Aside from Rigunay, CLN also gave away P500,000 and P250,000 to two other winners while two more won P100,000 each during the grand raffle draw last month. The grand raffle winners, including Rigunay, were awarded their prizes during simple ceremonies held at CLN’s headquarters in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Another winner, Amelia Romero, said she plans to start a business using her winnings, which turned out to be a major blessing because she just resigned from her job as a human resources assistant. Just like Rigunay and her mother, Romero had been shopping for shoes at CLN ever since she could remember.
