Has this ever happened to you? You've got the time and the motivation to get up and work out, but you can't find your sports bra.

This is, sadly, a *very regular *occurrence for me. No matter how organized I think I am about getting all my sports bras into one place, none of them are actually in that place when I go to look for them, minutes before heading to the gym or out on a run.

It happened—again!—this weekend. The sports bra was nowhere to be found, and I'm not the kind of exerciser who's happy going without. So instead of skipping the run, I improvised. I found a semi-stretchy, mostly Spandex tank top at the back of a drawer, and folded it in half, upward (I figured the doubling of stretchy fabric would provide some extra support), and pinned it. Perfect? No—it didn't wick away sweat like a real sports bra, and things were a bit, er, jigglier than I might have preferred. But it passed!

Another possible sports bra stand-in: a bathing suit top. Not a string bikini, of course, but if you have a two-piece sporty swimsuit that's more for swimming than for sunning, it may have enough sports-bralike qualities to keep things in place. A word of caution, though: Some swimsuit fabrics aren't made for jumping up and down outside of water, so there's the possibility of chafing—yeowch. If you have some time and sewing skill, you can actually use the cups of of an old bathing suit and sew them into a tank top like this, which is not only cute—it's functional!

And the last...well, I've heard about this method, and there are lots of tutorials about how to pull it off—but I confess I've never tried it. Would you? All you need is a pair of scissors...and a pair of guy's underpants!
