Recently, SmartAsset examined the latest relationship trends across 118 U.S. cities to find which cities had the most married people—and which had the most single people.
The study tracked unmarried men aged 15-44 per 100 unmarried women aged 15-44.
Among several key takeaways, SmartAsset found that Birmingham had the highest rate of single women—with only 82 single men per every 100 single women.

The national rate of single adults in the U.S. is less than 50%, but the state with the highest ratio of singles is New Mexico, with 57% of adults either divorced, never married, widowed or separated. There are also differences in the share who are single by race and educational attainment. Black adults (47%) are much more likely to be single than White (28%) or Hispanic (27%) adults.
The incidence of disappearing men is most prevalent in five Eastern European countries, all with total population sex ratios of fewer than 88 males per 100 females: Latvia (85), Lithuania (86), Ukraine (86), Russia (86) and Belarus (87).
