You need to believe me when I tell you... there's nothing more that I want than to have your baby. Not just for you, but for me. I love you so much. I want to create a life with you. I want to be the mother of your child, our child.

Season 6[]

Investigating Thornhill[]

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (1)

Betty sleeps in bed with Archie until he wakes up from a nightmare, in which he and Betty were hooking up until they found a bomb under the bed. Archie remarks that the weirdest part is that they were living in a town called "Riverdale." Betty then gets a call from Kevin, who informs her that he found something in the woods. They go to meet Kevin, who came across a sacrificed deer in the woods. Whoever is responsible also took the deer's heart. Cheryl arrives and warns them to leave, as they're trespassing on Thornhill territory. Betty informs Cheryl that they're standing in the middle of a crime scene and that she needs to collect all the evidence, including the deer, but Cheryl objects.

Betty and Archie help Jughead and Tabitha move in together. Betty and Tabitha unpack and discuss their respective relationships. Back in high school, one of the biggest questions in Betty's life was if she was going to end up with Archie or Jughead. And now she has a definitive answer.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (2)

Archie gets off the phone with his mom, who was wondering if Archie and Betty had put anymore thought into what she asked the late time she saw them. Betty presumes that she's referring to marriage and reminds Archie that they decided marriage wasn't for them because everyone they know who's married, is either divorced or dead. However, Archie explains that she was actually referring to grandchildren. If it were up to Archie, it would happen sooner rather than later. While she has been dreaming about starting a family with Archie since the sixth grade, Betty wants them to take their time.

Betty learns from Dr. Curdle Jr. that she's essentially barren. However, strangely enough, she's the fifth young, healthy woman to come see him with the same condition.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (3)

Betty has been thinking and suggests that she and Archie adopt a baby. Archie's dad always used to tell him that the most fulfilling things he ever did was become a father, and Archie wants to do that with Betty for every step of the process. Betty assures Archie that there's nothing more she wants than to have his baby.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (4)

Betty asks Archie about the planting of the maple saplings. He tells her how Cheryl impaled her poppets all over the forest to scare Archie's crew. Surprisingly, Betty recognizes the poppet from a cold case involving a similar doll. Betty begins looking through old cases at the FBI field office, where she comes across a cold case involving the same sacrificial altar in the woods, but this time involving a human sacrifice and a poppet doll with Nana Rose's initials stitched in.

Betty then goes to confront Cheryl regarding the deer she killed, which Cheryl denies. Betty then reveals that 50 years ago, a drifter was murdered on their property with his heart ripped out and poppet shoved down their throat. Again, Cheryl denies having any involvement or knowledge of what Betty is referring to.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (5)

Betty and Archie arrive at the Maple Harvest Festival, where Betty encourages Archie to join Jughead for the pancake eating contest and keep Cheryl distracted whilst she does some snooping. Betty later challenges Archie in an axe throwing contest, which Betty wins. As a consolation prize, Archie is given a pie, which they take home and eat before having sex on the table with a fertility doll nearby.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (6)

Betty and Cheryl lure Archie to Thornhill, where the townspeople await. If they want their maple trees to thrive and for Rivervale to have a bountiful year, then a sacrifice has to be made. Betty is pregnant with Archie's child, and in 25 years, he'll be crowned the Maple King, just like his dad. Cheryl explains Archie's blood is what will bring the town back to its glory, as he has the distinction of being the town's one true, pure heart. He is then knocked unconscious, and when Archie awakens, Cheryl stabs him and rips his heart out as a sacrifice to the Maple Maiden.[1]

Losing her baby to La Llorona[]

Betty shares her baby names with Kevin. If it's a boy, Archie, but if it's a girl, she's thinking about naming her Polly. Cheryl interrupts and tells Betty that she needs Alice to take the twins for a couple days after Juniper was attacked by a spirit at Thornhill.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (7)

Betty seeks out Toni's help with a domestic violence case. It's looking like a mother drowned her daughter in a bathtub. The mother is a Serpent named Lucinda Villa, and her daughter Xandra is dead. The FBI wants Betty to charge Lucinda with murder, but Toni insists that she's innocent, which is why Betty has come to her, in hopes she will open up to Toni. Betty then takes Toni to the FBI field office, where Toni asks Lucinda for the truth. Lucinda claims that Xandra was drowned by La Llorona, a spirit of vengeance that preys on young children by drowning them. However, Betty isn't convinced Lucinda is telling the truth.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (8)

La Llorona enters the Cooper home whilst Betty sleeps and places her hand over Betty's stomach before leaving. Betty then awakens to find a dirty, black handprint on her shirt. And the next day, Betty learns from Dr. Curdle Jr. that she's no longer pregnant, leading Betty to realize that Toni and Lucinda are right about La Llorona being in Rivervale. So, Betty calls Toni from Pop's and tells her that she's going to help Lucinda after realizing that La Llorona is in fact in Rivervale. Tabitha then checks in on Betty, who insist that she's fine and asks how life with Jughead is doing. Betty recalls how single-minded he could become when he got into one of his stories, but it was always fun to read one of his early vomit drafts.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (9)

After Betty discovers a pattern, that La Llorona is following a direct line from Sweetwater River, she and Toni seek out help from Cheryl and Nana Rose. The women join hands and make contact with La Llorona, who takes possession of Nana Rose and reveals that her name is Martha Mallon. Her employ was as a nurse in the children's ward in Rivervale's first hospital. During those early years, they lost many children for various reasons, including poxs, the cold, and careless doctors, but the townsfolk blamed her for their lost and accused her of being a witch. So, they dragged Martha and her children to Sweetwater River, weighed them down with rocks, and threw them into the dark waters. They drowned and Martha became La Llorona. As for who summoned her, La Llorona reveals that it was the work of Darla Dickenson, from her son's grave.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (10)

Betty and Toni find Darla at her son's grave. She's been expecting them. Toni apologizes for killing Danny, but Darla isn't interested in her apology. Betty commands Darla to call La Llorona off, but Darla explains that she can't be called off. Once summoned, there's no stopping her until she gets the baby she came for, that being Anthony in this case. So, Betty and Tabitha race to the Whyte Wyrm, where they find what remains of the Serpents. Fangs is conscious enough to reveal that La Llorona took Anthony to Sweetwater River.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (11)

Betty and Toni arrive at Sweetwater River just in time to stop La Llorona, who has Baby Anthony in hand. Toni is sorry for what La Llorona has endured and is asking that she show mercy, but La Llorona was called forth and can't return without the child. However, Toni offers to take away her suffering by becoming La Llorona herself. She'll do this not only in exchange for Anthony's safe return, but as penance for the life she took. Martha agrees and hands Toni Baby Anthony. After Toni gives Anthony over to Betty, she trades places with Martha and becomes La Llorona. Before retreating into the water, Toni tells Betty to protect Baby Anthony and let him know that she loved him.[2]

Interrogating the Devil[]

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (12)

Betty gets a call from Glen, who reports that they have the Trash Bag Killer in custody and that he's being transported to Rivervale in hopes that Betty can get a confession, as he's refusing to speak to anyone else.

Betty interrogates the Trash Bag Killer from the FBI field office. She explains that her boss wants a confession, but TBK is more concerned about what Betty wants. Betty questions if absolute evil exists and if he's it. He's initially reluctant to answer, but as she gets up to leave, TBK replies that absolute evil does in fact exists and that there's also a part of Betty that's evil. It's what draws them together.

Betty rushes home and scrubs herself clean in the shower. She then calls Glen and tells him that he has to take TBK away from, as he's toying with her, but Glen claims to have no idea what Betty's referring to, as TBK isn't in custody.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (13)

Betty questions the man claiming to be TBK. He reveals that he's actually the Devil. Betty asks for proof, questioning if her father is in hell, which he is, and as proof, the Devil summons him and allows for Hal to speak with Betty. He pleads with Betty for help, telling her just how much pain he's in. To ensure her father's identity, Betty asks where he would always take her after her little league games. He correctly replies "Chaz E. Cheddar's" on route 18, confirming that Betty is indeed speaking with the Devil and that her father is in hell.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (14)

Betty returns to speak with the Devil, who continues to disguise himself as TBK. He's come to claim Betty's loyalty, rather than just her soul. He warns her that there's a war brewing between good and evil, and he'd like for her to pledge her allegiance to him. In return, he'll release Betty's father from endless suffering. It's been foretold that a woman will sit upon a scarlet-colored beat, full of blasphemy. And that woman was Babylon the Great, mother of all destruction and abomination. This is meant to be Betty, the Devil claims, but she isn't convinced and doesn't care about her father's suffering either. Hoping to further persuade Betty, the Devil tells her that Polly is also suffering in hell. He summons her, and Polly pleads with a Betty for help, exclaiming that her skin burns. Betty pulls away at the unbearable sounds of her sister's screams and demands that he stop torturing her, but when he continues, she grabs a sharp pair of scissors and stabs him repeatedly until he stops breathing. Betty then removes the mask to discover that she has in fact killed Glen. The Devil lured him to Rivervale and set up Betty to kill him.

Betty is at home, near the fireplace, when she gets a call from Glen's office. They ask if she's heard from him, but Betty claims that she hasn't, when in actuality he's buried underneath the Cooper house.[3]

Marrying Archie[]

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (15)

Betty awakens from a nightmare in which the whole town conspired to sacrifice Archie. Later that day, in the teacher's lounge, Betty and Archie are discussing wedding plans when she gets a call from Dr. Curdle Jr., who claims that Jughead's corpses has turned up in the morgue despite the fact that Betty is only a few feet away from Jughead. She suspects that Curdle is simply upset that he wasn't invited to her wedding and hangs up. Betty then informs Jughead what she learned from Dr. Curdle Jr.

Betty and Archie receive a visit from Jughead, who claims that they're living in a parallel universe and that Rivervale was created from an explosion in Archie's bedroom, but Archie doesn't remember any bombing. It is then that Betty recalls Archie mentioning having a dream about an explosion, but as far as he's concerned, it was just a dream.

Betty and Jughead rush over to Thornhill from the rehearsal dinner to find Cheryl strangled to death in her bed.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (16)

Betty shoots Archie in the back of the head and kills him to stop him from strangling the life from Jughead. Still dressed in her wedding dresses, she explains that something in her head clicked when Archie stood her up at the altar and her life flashed before her eyes. She simply knew to come to the house. Betty and Jughead then head upstairs with the bomb and place it under Archie's bed. All that's left for them to do now is recreate the moment leading up to the explosion, so Betty and Jughead begin to kiss on the bed until being interrupted by Jughead's previously dead doppelgänger, who reveals that there may be a way to save both universes by finding a new power source, that being Jughead, who will become a living battery and story generator that powers Rivervale by writing stories to fuel the universe so that it doesn't have to keep leeching off of Riverdale. Betty is very reluctant to the idea and doesn't think she'll be able to live with herself, but Narrator Jughead reveals that soon they all will forget about Jughead's sacrifice for them, and he will fade from memory.

Betty Cooper (Rivervale) (17)

Betty and Narrator Jughead head into Archie's room with the bomb. However, Archie reanimates and resumes his mission to stop Jughead. He begins banging on the door with a bat as Betty and Jughead hug each other tightly and brace themselves as the bomb's timer reaches zero, but the explosion never goes off, and instead, Betty and Jughead return to their normal lives, with their friends waiting downstairs, all with no recollection of what just happened. Veronica asks what they were doing upstairs, but neither of them can recall.[4]

The gang come together to assist Riverdale's Jughead with defeating Percival. After Jughead lures him into a trap, the gang stabs him with his own daggers, leaving him weak enough for Tabitha to turn him over to the devil.[5]
