The Bergen Backpack is a BLUFOR backpack used by Pacific NATO forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Apex DLC.

Overview[]
The largest backpack available in ArmA 3, the Bergen can easily store up to four Titan AT missiles at once thanks to having a maximum capacity of 480 "mass". It has an unloaded weight of 90 "mass".
However, this also comes at a significant cost as the Bergen's stamina penalty - even when unloaded, is even more so than the Carryall.
As a result, the Bergen should not be carried by heavy weapons troops since the Bergen's default weight (on top of the weight added by the launcher) will prevent them from being able to sprint; or even jog very far for that matter.

Trivia[]
- Although marked as DLC content, the Bergen does not require ownership of the Apex expansion to equip.[1]
- Prior to Game Update 1.82, parts of the Bergen's model were not weighted correctly. This caused the upper parts of the backpack to move along with the wearer's head as opposed to their body, resulting in strange visual distortions to the backpack's proportions.[2]
The information below details unused, pre-release or removed content.
- There are several unused backpack entries that remain in the config files which are also called "Bergens" and existed long before the Apex expansion's release.[3][4][5][6]
- Some of these unused "Bergens" can even be found hidden inside certain supply crates for some campaign missions and scenarios (such as in the Tac-Ops DLC's Beyond Hope mini-campaign).[7]
- Whether this implies that the Bergen was intended to have been in the game from release is unclear however, as none of these backpacks have unique models and appear to have been placeholders for the Carryall.
