Here’s who qualifies for the Apple Teacher Discount:
This discount is available to all educators and any faculty and staff of an educational facility or school. Furthermore, it’s open to all grades, including colleges. The teacher discount also applies to homeschool teachers, which is a major coup for remote learners. However, you will have to supply verification information, which we’ll get into below.

Not all Apple products are included in the teacher discount.
Education discounts don’t apply for purchases on other Apple products, including the iPhone, Apple TV, Apple Watch, or AirPods. Again, the Apple teacher discount only applies to Macs, iPads, and certain monitors that are denoted on Apple’s page for this particular savings.
If you don’t see the item you’re looking for on the Apple Education Store page, it unfortunately isn’t included. In that case, you’ll have to keep an eye out for The Krazy Coupon Lady’s Apple deals.
Does it apply for refurbished tech?
Unfortunately, the Apple teacher discount doesn’t apply for any refurbished items you can buy through Apple. It applies to designated iPads, Macs, MacBooks, and computer displays that the company denotes on their landing page for educators.
Teachers can redeem this discount year-round.
Fortunately, this savings is available all year via Apple’s website. So you don’t have to worry about circling sales like Black Friday on your calendar. If you do find yourself in the market for a new computer or tablet in the late summer or after Thanksgiving, you can take advantage of additional discounts for students and teachers around the holidays or back to school.
Equally important to note, the offer for back to school varies from year to year. But in the U.S., students and teachers usually get a free item or voucher from June to September on top of the discount. In the past, Apple offered free AirPods and a $150 Apple gift card when purchasing a new Mac and a $100 gift card with the purchase of a new iPad.
Using the discount is pretty straightforward.
To use the Apple teacher discount, you’ll need to choose from a few preselected Apple items outlined on the Apple Education Store home page. There are several iMacs, MacBooks, and iPads to choose from, and the prices on the page already reflect the discount.
To get your savings, add one of the included devices to your cart and start the checkout process. For U.S.-based educators, prove your educator status with the following:
- A valid photo ID
- Corroborating evidence of employment at a qualified institution, like a paycheck stub or verification of employment on official school letterhead
For teachers outside of the U.S., Apple requires that your educator status is verified through UNiDAYS. If you’re over the age of 16, you’ll need to set up a UniDAYS account. Simply use the assigned email address linking your educational institution or credit card style student ID from your educational employer.
