Dior is a luxury brand that is adored by many, but are its products cruelty-free and vegan? Find out below.
About Dior
The world-famous brand was founded by Christian Dior, who created the luxury fashion brand in 1946 in Paris. It began selling clothes, earning the reputation for breaking the boundaries of women’s fashion, but soon moved on to perfume, makeup and skincare. Dior is now owned by conglomerate LVMH, or Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy group, which specialises in luxury goods and prestigious brands.
Is Dior cruelty-free?
Unfortunately, Dior is technically not cruelty-free. Although it plainly states on its website that ‘Dior does not test any product on animals’, it sells its products in countries where animal testing may be required by law in order to sell goods there, meaning that it cannot truly be considered cruelty-free.
Is Dior Vegan?
Dior is not a vegan skincare and cosmetics brand, as some products may contain common ingredients such as lanolin, beeswax and carmine, which are animal products or bi-products. As it is also not quite cruelty-free, many would not consider it to be vegan either.
