Aggie Transfer Scholarships
The Aggie Transfer Scholarship program recognizes outstanding students who will be transferring to Texas A&M University. The annual awards range from $500 to $3,000. Selection criteria for the Transfer Scholarship include, but are not limited to, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership, major, and, in some instances, financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Effective Fall 2017, students must be awarded and maintain competitive scholarships of at least $4,000 per academic year in order to qualify for the Non-Resident Tuition Waiver. Current students with existing and continuing scholarship awards may continue to receive this waiver at the previous $1,000 threshold. All new students and new scholarship recipients are subject to the $4,000 minimum.
Eligibility
You must be an admitted undergraduate transfer student to be considered for Transfer Scholarships. To receive funds, you must enroll full-time. In order to provide the most opportunity to the greatest number of students, Texas A&M does not stack Aggie Transfer Scholarships. If you qualify for more than one Aggie Transfer Scholarship you will receive the highest dollar-value scholarship only.
Duration
Some transfer scholarships are multi-semester scholarships while other awards are one semester in duration. For multi-semester transfer scholarships, you must continually meet the scholarship requirements for each awarded semester in order to receive the semester’s award amount.

Prospective students may apply using the ApplyTexas Application orCommonApp application for Transfer Admissions.
You must provide consent for application data to be used for scholarship consideration at the time of application. If you decline, you will not be considered for scholarship opportunities through Texas A&M University. The consent authorization question is found in the Admissions portion for both ApplyTexas and theCommon application. Once your application is submitted, it cannot be revised.

Scholarships are offered based on a variety of factors, including academic merit, financial need, choice of major, leadership activities and more. The Texas A&M University Dependent Children of Faculty/Staff and Support Staff Scholarship Programs are designed to provide scholarships to dependent children of Texas A&M University (TAMU) Faculty, Staff and Support Staff. Funding for these programs is available from a Quasi-Endowment.
These programs are designed to recognize the contributions of TAMU employees in the workplace and in the community by rewarding their children on the basis of need and academic achievement. Fifty percent of scholarships offered will be evaluated on academic merit. The remaining fifty percent will be offered on a combination of need and merit. The scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per year and vary in length from one to four years depending on the student's undergraduate classification. All scholarships must be used at TAMU in College Station.
Eligibility
- You must be admitted and planning to attend TAMU in College Station during the upcoming fall semester or a full-time undergraduate student.
- You must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for need-based scholarships.
- You must be the dependent child of a current faculty, staff or support staff employee at Texas A&M University, School of Law, Health Science Center, Texas A&M University at Qatar, or Chartwells (does not include TEES, TEEX or any other system employer).
- Your parentmust have been continuously employed at Texas A&M University, School of Law, Health Science Center, Texas A&M University at Qatar, or Chartwells for at least 2 years prior to the student's scholarship application in a full-time position budgeted at least 50% TAMU funds.
- Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPR.
Duration
The scholarships vary in length from one to four years, depending upon your undergraduate classification.
Application
You may compete for a Dependent Children Scholarship award through the ApplyTexas ApplicationorCommonApp application for Transfer Admissions.
Transfer students who enter in the spring will be sent a separate application.

Texas A&M University offers two levels of scholarships to highly qualified Texas community college Phi Theta Kappa transfer students. These scholarships are renewable for up to two years.
The TAMU Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarships recognize outstanding transfer students who will be attending Texas A&M University. Students must transfer directly from a Texas community college and have been actively involved with the Phi Theta Kappa chapter associated with their campus immediately prior to transfer to be considered. Students must complete at least 24 hours at their previous community college and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPR while at Texas A&M University. The scholarships range in value from $2,000 to $5,000 dollars annually and are renewable for up to two years. Selection criteria for the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship include, but are not limited to, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership, PTK involvement, academic major, and, in some instances, financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Eligibility
To be reviewed for the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship:
- You must be a Texas resident.
- You must be a first-time undergraduate degree seeking transfer student from a Texas community college.
- You must be an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa chapter associated with the community college from which you are immediately transferring at the time of application. If you are inducted into Phi Theta Kappa after submitting your Apply Texas application, you will not be able to make changes to your application.
- To renew, each semester recipients are required to maintain enrollment in at least 12 credit hours in both the fall and spring semesters, a minimum cumulative GPR of 3.0, and not be on conduct probation. This scholarship is renewable for up to two (2) years or four semesters.
Duration
The Texas A&M University Phi Theta Kappa scholarship is offered for up to two years. Students who apply for spring will be considered for fall scholarships as well.
