A new Ikea store – which will be bigger than the ones in Nottinghamshire and Coventry – is set to open and it will only be around an hour’s drive from Leicester.
The huge shop will open near Meadowhall, Sheffield, and it is set to be a 35,000 square metre behemoth.
In comparison, Nottinghamshire’s Giltbrook – even after its planned extension - will be 31,900 sqm and the Coventry store is around 30,000 sqm.
The new Ikea store will open its doors on Thursday, September 28.
It will have a crèche, restaurant, bistro and car park with 1,380 spaces, The Derby Telegraph reports.
Store manager Garry Deakin said: "We know that anticipation for Ikea's arrival in Sheffield has been high and we are incredibly excited to be opening our doors to this wonderful city.
"I am particularly looking forward to working with all our new co-workers, and introducing them to our diverse and welcoming culture.
"We are committed to being a good neighbour and will continue to take an active role in the local community, while ensuring we provide the unique shopping experience and home furnishings expertise that our customers have come to expect."
