A Complete Timeline of the Feud Between 50 Cent, Lala Kent and Randall Emmett (2024)

Long before the "I'm sorry Fofty" memes and Lala Kent and Randall Emmett ending their engagement in 2021, rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent engaged in a weekend-long feud with the former couple in April 2019.

The dispute allegedly started over accusations from 50 Cent that Emmett had not paid him back the remaining balance on a $1 million loan. Things escalated when 50 Cent publicly threatened Emmett with physical violence should he not pay off the debt. Emmett produced several of 50 Cent's film and TV projects, including the Starz crime-drama Power, which 50 Cent also costarred and executive produced.

"Keep playing with me and get ya f------ head cracked in front of everybody," 50 Cent wrote to Emmett in screenshots of a text exchange between the two. "You took my kindness for weakness. Now I'm [going to] show you what [I've] been [trying] not to do to you dumb motherf-----."

Although the initial feud between 50 Cent and Emmett seemed to be over by April 29, 2019, 50 Cent and Emmett's then-fiancée Kent continued to take occasional shots at each other throughout 2019 before settling their differences when Kent and Emmett officially split and called off their engagement.

From the "Money Monday" deadline to burying the hatchet years later, here is a complete breakdown of 50 Cent's short-lived feud with Lala Kent and Randall Emmett.

Things went sour for the former friends when 50 Cent shared a since-deleted vintage Vanderpump Rules clip on Instagram of Kent explaining how she had met Emmett during the casting for a movie he was producing.

"I met him through The Row. Rand saw me and sent his assistant up to ask me If I was an actress. I told him to go to my Instagram account. The next day, I get a phone call that says, you have an audition!" Kent recalled to pal Stassi Schroeder in the episode. "I had auditioned for it, and we went out, me and him and, like, two of my friends. I let him hit it the first time, and we were inseparable."

"He would just send me, like, really expensive gifts," Kent added in the episode. "The first night we banged, I got a car the next day. He was like, 'Do you want a Range Rover?' I was like, 'Yeah!' "

Kent would go on to star in The Row, leading 50 Cent to compare Emmett to disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein. "Ten seconds left in the fourth quarter hoe's are winning," 50 Cent commented on the clip. "Do you want a range rover? Yes, b---- yassss. Then just run out and suck a d---. LOL smh."

That didn't sit too well with Kent. She quickly jumped into 50 Cent's comments, questioning the rapper's masculinity.

"I'm disgusted," she wrote in a since-deleted comment shared by 50 Cent. "We've sat up at dinners solo with you, you showing mad love, while begging Rand to put one of your new talentless b------ in a film, and this is how you come for me? On the gram?"

"She swears she's a thug from south side Jamaica, Queens, and she's up in here watching Bravo," Kent continued in another since-deleted comment captured by Comments by Celebs, using a feminine pronoun for the New York rapper. Emmett, for his part, appeared to be upset about it all. He apologized multiple times, claiming he was "not doing well" and that the stress of their public feud was causing chest pains.

"I'm sorry Fofty," Emmett allegedly wrote, misspelling 50 Cent's name. "I'm heading to the emergency room. I'm not doing well. Please don't text me anymore. I'm sorry for everything. This is too much for me. I'm so hurt and not feeling well."

April 27, 2019: 50 Cent demands Randall Emmett repay him in full by Monday

Emmett's pleas fell on deaf ears. "F--- you Randall," 50 Cent wrote on April 27, continuing to go in on Emmett even after the producer allegedly paid him $250,000 towards the loan. "I want all my money Monday, f--- that. If he ain't got it, he can put his Rolls Royce on the truck to NY. The friend s--- is overrated."

Perhaps having the last laugh, the G Unit rapper made "I'm sorry FOFTY" T-shirts — capitalizing on both Emmett's apology and his misspelling.

According to The Blast, he sold 10,000 shirts Sunday alone.

All of this has made 50 Cent someone whose good side Bravo superfan Chrissy Teigen wanted to remain on. "I never want 50 Cent to be mad at me," she tweeted. "Please love me, fofty." In a comment captured by Comments by Celebs, the rapper was quick to respond, writing, "I love you Chrissy & John, these people just keep trying me."

50 Cent told Cohen he didn't regret calling out his Power co-producer Randall Emmett for allegedly owing him $1 million from six years ago.

"I got me paid right away," 50 Cent said.

He also addressed Emmett's "fofty" typo, adding, "He was speeding, he's going fast," 50 Cent said of the nickname's origins, adding it became "a whole new thing."

However, 50 Cent ultimately told Cohen, "I don't have a problem with them."

September 16, 2019: Lala Kent responds to 50 Cent accusing her of using cocaine

In the days following Kent's appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, 50 Cent returned to taking shots at Kent and Emmett on Instagram, including accusing Kent, who had been open about her sobriety since 2018, of using cocaine. In a since-deleted Instagram post, 50 Cent wrote Kent would "have a drink, hit da powda" — in reference to her alcoholism prior to sobriety.

E! News reported that in since-deleted Instagram Stories posted on Sept. 16, 2019, the reality star defended herself against his allegations.

"I feel it's important for me to say this, and I'm only going to address this once," she reportedly began her lengthy post, according to E! News. "My sobriety is something I'm proud of and work on [every day]. I've never done cocaine nor were any other substances, other than alcohol, involved in my decision to get sober."

"I pride myself on being open and honest about everything in my life, hopefully inspiring others and letting them know they are not alone," she continued. "The past couple of days I've been slammed to say the very least. People have asked me how I'm maintaining keeping my head up… To me it's simple — I know Real Life from the illusion of social media. I know what it feels like to have your world crumble. Getting a phone call from your brother saying your dad has passed away…that is earth-shattering. Being called names and being falsely accused of things…that is far from earth-shattering."

Kent concluded, "My mindset is something I'm grateful for— however I can't help but think about how many people are taking their own lives, daily, due to cyberbullying. It is imperative that I tell you, you are not by yourself. I see you. I stand by you. I'm on your team. You are loved and make a difference in this world."

Later that evening, 50 Cent responded to Kent's denial of his cocaine claims, calling her a "crack head" in a since-deleted Instagram caption.

June 9, 2020: Lala Kent explains why her feud with 50 Cent did not appear on Vanderpump Rules

Despite Kent's prominent role on the reality show Vanderpump Rules, the series did not address Kent and Emmett's feud with 50 Cent. The fight was only mentioned briefly in season 8 when James Kennedy explained that Kent was furious that he joked about the drama on Instagram.

"I mean, I won't say more than I can," Kent said on the reunion episode. "There was a very public beef between myself and a pretty famous rapper, and it got very bad. I felt like James and I had moved so beyond doing petty s--- to each other that when I saw that it was just like a knife in my heart."

"Everything's good now," Kent added. "Myself and Randall and this rapper, we just don't speak about each other."

When host Andy Cohen asked why viewers hadn't seen the dispute on the series, Kent alluded to legal issues.

"Well, number one, when this all happened, we were not filming," she explained. "I think we would have had a much harder time if it was happening during filming. But there was also a lot of legal stuff going on that … " she said, grimacing. "Yeah."
